Company Info

The company's origins goes back to 1990 when it was started as a motor body building business. Renting a half share in a building of 3000 sq feet in Mirrielees Road. With one employee they set out to build Ute decks and bodies for light trucks along with certified tow bars, for the local car dealers in Tauranga.
With the increasing number of Japanese Import cars being brought into New Zealand that required towbars, and with the local car dealers and the public demand they were kept busy supplying the locals with their requirements.
The Towbar Factory is growing strongly with 508 different models of tow bars that it manufactures. These tow bars are manufactured to the NZ Domestic Standard 5467 (1993). Each tow bar batch has own unique serial number stamped on the tongue to track who and when they were built. They are welded by certified welders using flux cored mig welding process. Our Tow bars are painted using either a two stage dipping process or powder coating. All tow bars for dispatch are fitted with a tow ball, bolt pack and specification label and then shrink wrapped ready for dispatch.
The company is now part of the Starck Automotive Group.
There are ABOUT 65 tow bar fitting agents throughout the North Island being supplied tow bars the next day from our factory store.
They can be contacted on freephone 0800 4 A TOWBAR.
There are new tow bars developed and added to the range each week, covering the latest in imported and NZ new vehicles as they become available to us.
